Saturday, March 09, 2019

10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Brown County Public Library

In partnership with The Center for Rural Engagement, we invite you to join master blacksmith, Jason Nickel, at the Brown County Public Library for a blacksmithing presentation and demonstration.

Nickel began working as a blacksmith in Jack Brubaker's shop, and over time became lead blacksmith. He, alongside his two apprentices Iris Nickel and Paolo Ansaldo, are working to create an entry gate for the Bloomington Community Orchard.

This program is led by Jon Kay, Director of Traditional Arts Indiana. Learn more about the impact Traditional Arts has on your community as well as the partnership and future initiatives with Indiana University’s Center for Rural Engagement.
